All About Layering 3
Hi crafty friends! Today I’m showing how to use the Build A Flower: Bearded Iris stamp set from Altenew. This is a beautiful stamp set with a great depiction of the Bearded Iris. I have a strong affinity for this flower. My grandmother used to garden and had a hundred different varieties of the Bearded Iris. So when this stamp set was released, I just knew I had to do a tutorial. You can see a video tutorial on my YouTube Channel. Please like and subscribe. It means alot to me that you watch and enjoy what I show.
I’m also showing this card as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program for the course “All About Layering 3”.
To create this card, first, I stamped two of the Bearded Iris using Altenew inks from the Cool Summer Night and Nature’s Wonders Crisp Dye Ink lines. There are 8 stamps in all to create this image. I initially tried using an acrylic block to stamp. But, because of the complicated nature of this stamp set, I found it easier to use my MISTI stamping tool. The MISTI makes it easier to line up the stamps and prevents gaps and white space from occurring. After I stamped two of the Iris, I used the matching dies to cut them out. Next, I die cut some Lawn Fawn velum using the Garden Lattice cover die from Honey Bee. I adhered the vellum to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch light yellow cardstock. Then I adhered the two Bearded Iris over the center of the card. Finally, I cut the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment from some pretty light blue glitter card stock and adhered it right above the Iris stems.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you enjoyed the video tutorial.
